Sport can be cruel. And less than two short years ago Limerick hurling was on a high.
One of the key players in the journey masterminded by John Kiely was Limerick senior hurling star Shane Dowling, but the Shannonside hero has had to hang up the boots due to injury and his sorrow over the decision is apparant.
Only 27 and Limericks All time leading scorer will never don the green jersey again.
It’s clear the whole hearted star made a big impact.
